2. Auli Gurson Bugyal

The trek is not too lengthy, spanning just 3 km but it packs a punch, offering lush green pastures surrounded by coniferous forest, oak trees, and deodar trees on all sides.

3. Nanda Devi National Park​

The Nanda Devi National Park owes its name to the sacred Nanda Devi Temple and Nanda Devi Mountain Peak. It is Recognized globally for its natural splendor, it was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988. However, the park was already established in 1982. The Nanda Devi National Park spans 630 sq kilometers, encompassing the Nanda Devi Mountain Range, and the Nanda Devi Sanctuary within its boundaries. The Nanda Devi Park has so much to offer that you will never want to return from that place- the gurgling rivers, serene lakes, and dense forests teeming with diverse fauna and wildlife. 4. Narsingh Temple​

Joshimath is home to the sacred Narsingh Temple, a divine residence of the Narsingh Avatar of Lord Vishnu. The Narsingh temple has its own ancient story, that poses a question while simultaneously offering an answer for the future. Lord Narsingh’s highly revered idol boasts a distinctive characteristic: its left arm is steadily diminishing in size. According to legend, when it vanishes entirely, the passage to Badrinath Dham will be eternally sealed, and the Satyug will begin.

5. Hanuman Temple

You may have heard this legendary tale where Lord Hanuman, on his quest to retrieve the life-saving Sanjivani Buti (Herb) for Laxman, Lord Hanuman took a brief rest at this very place, transforming it into a sacred spot for his devotees. The Sanjivani herb was the only remedy that could cure Lakshman and was found exclusively in the Himalayas. That’s why this place has a unique energy, and alongside, you will also get to see the majestic Neelkanth Peak.

6. Kawani Bugyal

A 13-kilometer journey from Auli will bring you to this destination, where, especially during the summer season, you will spot tourists who also chose to trek on the secluded route like this. If gazing at mountain peaks brings you joy then you must visit this place, as it offers breathtaking views of Nanda Devi, Dronagiri, and Kamet mountain peaks. The trekking route to this location might completely shut off during the winter season. However, please update yourself before coming to this place.

7. Chattrakund Lake

Chattrakund is an idyllic small lake surrounded by dense forests on all sides, featuring Pine, Oak, and Deodar trees. A freshwater lake lies just 3 km from Gurson Bugyal.

8. Joshimath Auli Ropeway

Joshimath to Auli Ropeway is one of India’s longest and highest ropeways, offering not just a convenient commute from Joshimath to Auli, but also an exhilarating adventurous journey.  A very charming mode of transportation and its unique qualities and value are especially appreciated during the winter season when the road route becomes challenging due to heavy snowfall. Let me inform you that the distance from the ropeway to Auli is merely 4.15 kilometers, the swift and scenic ride will ascend you from 1875 meters to 3050 meters in elevation, covering the distance in just about half an hour.

If there’s no direct flight available from there, you can fly to Delhi Airport and then take a flight to Dehradun Airport. Rishikesh Railway Station → Once you arrive in Rishikesh, hiring a cab is a convenient option to reach Auli. However, you can also travel to Joshimath via state-run buses, and then take a cab or the Auli Ropeway to reach your destination. Distance from Auli- 265 km approx.

You can plan your journey to Joshimath using state-owned buses, private buses, or special tourist buses, and thereafter, easily reach Auli by hiring a private taxi or cab.
