How to reach Haridwar/Rishikesh from Delhi?

We mentioned Delhi specifically because it serves as a major rail hub, offering direct connecting trains to almost every part of India. That’s why most people first arrive in Delhi. Haridwar & Rishikesh are starting point of holy yatra, that is why they are also considered as the “door way to the abodes“.

That’s how you can come from Delhi-

  • By Air→ You can catch a flight from Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi to Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun/
  • By Train→ There are a few trains from Delhi to Rishikesh such as Yoga Express (19031), Yog Nagari Rishikesh Express (14317), and Kalinga Utkal Express (18477). However, many also prefer to board Haridwar and then continue their journey to Rishikesh by Road.
  • By Road→ Regular government bus services are available from ISBT Delhi to Rishikesh at periodic intervals. Alternatively, if you prefer a more comfortable and convenient travel experience, you can choose to book a private taxi or cab to travel to Rishikesh.

However, accommodation rates fluctuate seasonally, peak season (May-June) typically sees higher rates, whereas post-monsoon rates are relatively lower. Often, last-minute bookings result in rooms becoming even more expensive.
